At Lakeshore East, our community is designed to house residents who are accompanied by four-legged friends. For cat and dog owners, this means that there are luxury Chicago condos for sale in some of the city’s premier buildings that will accommodate their pets, too! As fall takes full swing and the weather cools off, having a pet friendly residence with access to Chicago’s best parks is good for the health of pet owners and their pets alike.
Lakeshore East: A Great Location for Pets
The luxury accommodations of the Lakeshore East make a healthy home for our residents’ pets as well! Even though our pets live in a high-rise condo building in downtown Chicago, they have unique urban access to nature. Both our 6-acre botanical park and our specially designated dog park provide a great place to walk or run with a dog. While many animals get cooped up in the winter in Chicago, Lakeshore’s animal residents benefit from the immediate proximity of the park. Throwing a ball, a Frisbee or just playing with other dogs is a joy for dogs even in cold weather. When it’s cold, Lakeshore East owners don’t mind stepping just outside their front door to let their dog get some fresh air. Continuing Reading…

Lakeshore East was built to be a green, energy efficient community, but as the cool weather rolls into the city, it’s time for residents of our Chicago apartments for rent to start thinking about recommitting themselves to the green lifestyle! Most of our residents don’t have to consider home maintenance when trying to green their lifestyle since energy efficient fixtures are built right into their residences. However, there are still innovative ways to conserve during cold weather. Here are a few of our favorites!
1. Change the direction of your fan. If your Lakeshore East residence features a ceiling fan, autumn is the time change the direction of the blades. The fan should run clockwise so that air is drawn upwards to circulate warm air. Ceiling fans can create a cozy apartment in the winter as well as a cool breeze in the summer!
2. Change all your light bulbs to CFLs. Compact fluorescent lights or CFLs are the energy saving bulbs that are specifically made to replace incandescent bulbs in household light fixtures. They last up to 15 times as long as a regular bulb and only use 20 to 30% of the energy, saving you money and lowering energy use.

Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade – Chicago’s McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade runs from 8:30 to 11:00 AM on November 25th.
