Aqua Chicago: Live in a Chicago Landmark!

Posted by admin | April 12, 2010 | No Comments » |

Surrounded by some of Chicago’s biggest tourist attractions, like the Bean, Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile shopping and the John Hancock building, the Lakeshore East community is perfectly situated to become a tourist hot spot itself. Now, you can rent or own in one of Chicago’s newest landmark buildings– Aqua.

With the winning combination of distinctive architecture, unique undulating balconies and incomparable views of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and the city skyline, Aqua Chicago is quickly becoming a tourist destination in our city, and Magellan Development Group is proud to be associated with all the best attractions of the downtown area.

While Aqua’s exterior design has attracted countless tourists, Aqua’s unmatched combination of indoor and outdoor amenities, condominiums and rental residences have made it an incredible place to make a home in Chicago. Proximity to Lake Michigan and the green front yard of the Park at Lakeshore East make our village within the city the height of luxury living in Chicago.

But our innovative addition to Chicago’s architectural heritage has been a must-see for numerous professional groups in our industry, too. The amenities and green building techniques we incorporated into Aqua’s construction have been studied by numerous industry groups. The groups that have taken an interest in Aqua and come to tour our building include:

  • Young Engineers
  • American Society of Landscape Architects
  • Museum of Fine Art/Houston
  • Holabird & Root interns
  • Dutch Tour Group-Eurosteva
  • Norway Developer Group
  • Council on Tall Buildings
  • Chicago Real Estate Council
  • Lambda Alpha
  • Chicago Architecture Foundation
  • American Institute of Architects
  • Dutch Council on Tall Buildings
  • Women’s Architectural League

Popular amenities among these visiting groups have included, of course, the beautiful green terrace and Sky Garden, but they’ve also been interested in model residences and the amenities available on the Shore Club floors. One group was even interested in our special window washing systems that we keep on the 82nd floor rooftop!

Although Aqua tours aren’t available to the public, you can still learn about the groundbreaking design and construction of the building from the architect behind the project herself. Check out our video of Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang describing her design and its function:
