HIRE360 

Magellan Development Group is proud to support HIRE360, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to creating pathways to rewarding careers in the construction industry while strengthening communities across Illinois. Through partnerships with unions, contractors, developers, educators, and community organizations, HIRE360 helps individuals access training, mentorship, apprenticeship opportunities, and long-term careers in the skilled trades.

Magellan’s involvement with HIRE360 grew from its earlier partnership in the Constructing Bright Futures initiative, which connected aspiring tradespeople with hands-on experience on some of Chicago’s most significant development projects. Today, the firm continues its commitment to workforce development by supporting HIRE360’s mission of expanding access to construction careers and creating economic opportunities in historically underserved communities.

As one of Chicago’s leading developers, Magellan recognizes that building great cities requires investing in the people who build them. Through HIRE360, participants receive career guidance, pre-apprenticeship training, industry certifications, mentorship, and direct connections to union apprenticeship programs and employers. The organization also supports contractor growth, youth engagement, and community investment initiatives that help create lasting economic impact.

Lakeshore East Summer Music Series

Magellan Development Group is proud to support Chicago’s vibrant arts and cultural community through its ongoing partnerships with the Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz Institute of Chicago. Each summer, Magellan sponsors a series of unique live performances in Lakeshore East Park, bringing world-class music and cultural experiences directly to residents, neighbors, and visitors.

These special events transform the heart of Lakeshore East into an open-air concert venue, featuring unforgettable performances ranging from classical favorites by the Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra to dynamic jazz ensembles presented by the Jazz Institute of Chicago. The annual concerts provide a rare opportunity for the community to experience exceptional live music in a beautiful and accessible outdoor setting.

As part of Magellan’s commitment to enriching the communities it develops, these performances celebrate the power of music to bring people together, foster connections, and enhance quality of life. We are honored to partner with both organizations to create memorable cultural experiences that have become a cherished summer tradition in Lakeshore East.

Chicago Youth Program (CYP)

Established by volunteers in 1995, the Washington Park Youth Program (WPYP) is CYP’s largest community program. Serving the high-need communities of Washington Park, Grand Boulevard and surrounding areas, WPYP provides youth with tutoring, mentoring, recreation, college and career preparations, scholarships, and free high-quality health care from volunteer physicians at CYP’s Washington Park Children’s Free Clinic. Completed in 2003 by from in-kind donations from Magellan Development Group, Loewenberg Architects, CS Associates, McHugh Construction and many others the Community Center houses a tutoring room, library, pre-school area, gymnasium, computer lab and outside playground. Currently, the WPYP serves over 150 youth and is sustained by over 175 volunteers.
