Vice President of Development
Jeremy Oremland, vice president of development of Magellan Development Group LLC, is responsible for evaluating residential, retail, and mixed-use development opportunities nationwide. In this capacity, Oremland is involved in the financial structuring, design, entitlement, construction, marketing, and sales of all Magellan projects. These projects include building development efforts related to Lakeshore East, the company’s premier master-planned mixed-use urban community in downtown Chicago.
Prior to joining Magellan, Oremland held the position of Senior Analyst at the Community Development Trust, a private New York City-based and public mission-driven real estate investment trust focused on preserving and expanding the nation’s affordable housing stock. While there, he was responsible for the financial underwriting, analysis, and valuation of more than $1 billion of equity and debt multifamily real estate investments. His career in institutional real estate began as an analyst at Marcus & Millichap, one of the largest national commercial real estate firms specializing in investment sales, financing, research, and advisory services. Oremland has also worked as a consultant for the following companies: Inland Diversified Real Estate Trust, Inland American Real Estate Trust, Inland Private Capital Corporation, Greenspire Capital, Hamilton Partners.
Oremland holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rochester and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker and a member of the Urban Land Institute and Young Real Estate Professionals organization.
