Executive Vice President of Construction
Kristopher Schwengel is executive vice president of construction for Magellan Development Group LLC. Schwengel is responsible for all aspects of the company’s construction activities which includes the pre-design studies, procurement, feasibility studies, site surveys and investigations, record drawings, construction documents, estimating, constructability and technical design reviews. Schwengel also oversees and manages Magellan’s entire local and national portfolio.
Prior to his involvement with construction, Schwengel was an architectural designer for Neil Wenlund and Slomka Architects. With this firm, he worked on projects ranging from custom residential homes to regional shopping centers.
Schwengel has held a variety of project management posts. He was involved with the development and construction of the American Queen steamship and with the renovation of the Mississippi Queen steamship in New Orleans. Locally, he worked on the construction of the Chicago Bears’ new Halas Hall.
Schwengel earned his BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana.
