In addition to enjoying the magnificent park at the center of Lakeshore East residents will soon find a new village center anchored by a full-size grocery store. The Village Market is a multi-faceted market center having more than 100,000 square feet of retail space and will help complete the developer’s vision of the “village within the city” concept. Its contemporary design, with green roof, outdoor café and pedestrian promenades reflects the architecture of the area. The building is being designed for silver LEED certification and includes the following green features:

  • More than 15,000 sf of un-irrigated green roof
  • The entire development shall be non-smoking
  • A recycling program in-place to encourage retail tenant use and education
  • Storage for public and staff bicycles
  • Preferred parking for fuel efficient and alternative fuel vehicles
  • All parking is within/under the building eliminating impervious roof surfaces common in surface lots and roof-occupied parking garages
  • High-efficiency window systems
  • Low-volume, high-efficient plumbing fixtures
  • A shower and changing room for full-time employees
  • Site proximity is ideal for access to public transportation as well as bike paths
  • Site proximity to supporting community services such as banks, restaurants, grocery stores, places of worship, and recreation limiting the need for vehicle usage
