Since its founding in 1987,

  Co-CEO’s Joel Carlins and James Loewenberg have led Magellan into recognition as one of Chicago’s most prolific developers. Spanning 28-acres, this master-planned village within the heart of the city will include 4,950 new residences, 2.2 million square feet of gross commercial space, 1,500 hotel rooms, 770,000 square feet of retail space and a planned elementary school surrounding a magnificent six-acre botanical park. The master-plan, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, captured a 2002 Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design from the American Institute of Architects. Magellan Development Group has been awarded The 2008 FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Award by the International Real Estate Federation for the Lakeshore East Master Plan.
