As Chicago’s spring days start to warm up, we’ll all be spending more time outdoors! So what better time is there to get together as a community and work to clean up our shared outdoor space– Lakeshore East Park! We’ll be committing our weekend to make Lakeshore East Park even more beautiful for residents of our Chicago developments and the downtown Chicago community as a whole!
Saturday and Sunday May 22nd and 23rd, Magellan Development and residents of our Chicago condos, apartments and townhomes will unite to help beautify our “front yard”! Members of the New East Side community are welcome to join us at the public event.
From 8am to 2pm, we’ll be on the scene picking up trash, cleaning up the dog park and children’s areas and doing a little gardening in Lakeshore East Park. Join us for a whole day, both days or just whatever time you can spare this weekend to assist us in keeping our award-winning park in great shape!
What: Lakeshore East 2010 Renewal
Where: Lakeshore East Park
When: Saturday and Sunday, May 22nd and 23rd
8am to 2pm
Why: To keep our “front yard” beautiful!

Our 6-acre green space is home to 500 planted trees of more than 20 varieties and to 100 varieties of plants and flowers. But this weekend, we’ll add to the beautiful space by planting more flowers, including perennials that will bloom each spring for years to come! If you are missing on gardening in your urban existence, this is a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors with your hands in the dirt.
Our Park clean-up and planting will also be a great experience for kids! Bring out your children and get them involved in a meaningful contribution to the downtown Chicago community. Plus, the perennials you plant with them will bloom every year, giving you and your kids a part of the Park that is all yours.
Plus, we’ll be serving pizza and drinks for lunch for all participants of the Lakeshore East 2010 Renewal!
Lakeshore East residents who want to help clean the park can sign up with the doorman of their building. Other community members should email dkoz@xcapital.com to sign up or get more information.
