 is the magnificent Lakeshore East, a $4 billion lifestyle center spanning 28-acres in the heart of downtown Chicago where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan. This award-winning master planned village in the heart of the city will include 4,950 new residences, 2.2 million square feet of gross commercial space, 1,500 hotel rooms, 770,000 square feet of retail space and a planned elementary school surrounding a six-acre botanical park. The master plan, designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, captured a 2002 Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design from the American Institute of Architects.
