Streeterville Chicago: Surrounded by Summer Fun

There are Chicago condos for sale all across the city, but none are more attractive in the summertime than those in downtown Chicago near Streeterville. Condos with access to Streeterville attractions exist in one of the most luxurious neighborhoods in the city of Chicago.

Streeterville is an alphabet soup of different architectural styles and tastes and contains two of Chicago’s most recognizable landmarks, The Hancock building and the Chicago Water Tower, and in the nearby New East Side, you’ll find Magellan’s own Aqua building, which was named 2009’s Skyscraper of the Year. Streeterville’s close proximity to Magnificent Mile only adds to the neighborhood’s reputation, and Streeterville condos boast one of the best views of Lake Michigan in the city.

Summer in Streeterville

In the Summer, Streeterville takes on a carnival atmosphere, with events, concerts, and festivals happening throughout the season. Here’s just a list of a few of the events downtown residents can enjoy coming up in Streeterville:

• Fireworks: Starting in May, Navy Pier puts on a weekly firework display over Lake Michigan. The ten-minute production can be the perfect end to a day at the beach, an exciting start to a night on the town, or a nice backdrop to a dinner party in one of downtown’s high-rises. Shows are every Wednesday at 9:30 PM and every Saturday at 10:15 PM.
• Block Party: Streeterville parents and children alike will love this exhibit at the Chicago Children’s Museum. Starting May 29th, Streeterville’s youngest residents are invited to visit the imaginary neighborhood and play grown-up. Block Party opens at 10:00 AM, and the exhibit is open seven days a week.
• Great Chefs Tasting Party: This food festival is entering its 18th year and boasts 40 of Chicago’s most well known chefs. With raffle tickets going to local charities, there isn’t much to dislike about this event.
• An Arts Adventure: On July 25th, Streeterville’s annual summer festival, An Arts Adventure will begin. During this day, Streeterville becomes a living, breathing art gallery — the sidewalks busting at the seams with exhibits, performances, and art in many different mediums for sale in the booths. The festival gets started at 9:00 AM at 730 N. Wabash.
